A Picture-Perfect Micro-Wedding: Jen and Sam’s Love Story

Celebrant led wedding

Selecting the perfect celebrant for one of life’s defining moments is crucial. It’s about finding someone who can weave your story into a beautiful, unforgettable ceremony. Jen and Sam, a wonderful couple, experienced just that with their intimate micro-wedding at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall. Their summer wedding was a true celebration of their unique love story.

A Love Story Rooted in Adventure

Jen and Sam’s love story began many years ago, during their school days. Over time, their bond grew as they nurtured a relationship built on their shared adventures and ambitions. From supporting each other through university to creating their first home and welcoming their dog, Milo, their partnership has been shaped by love, commitment, and wonder at the world around them. Both avid hikers, their adventurous spirit was a key theme in their micro-wedding ceremony.

Crafting a Ceremony as Unique as Their Journey

From the beginning, Jen and Sam sought a ceremony that was far from conventional; they wanted something deeply meaningful. They wanted a ceremony that would capture the essence of their love and the incredible journey they had shared. We first met online, setting the stage for a collaborative process. Soon after, we gathered at the stunning Milsoms Kesgrave Hall to refine their vision in greater detail.

Their wish was for a ceremony that truly reflected who they are—far more personal than a typical wedding script. To achieve this, I asked them to complete bespoke questionnaires. These helped to reveal the key elements of their relationship and the values they held dear. The insights they shared  formed the foundations of their unique ceremony. Whem we met again afterwards, we fine-tuned the ceremony and ensured it fully resonated with them.

Heartfelt Vows That Moved Every Guest

One of the most unforgettable moments of their micro-wedding came when Jen and Sam exchanged personal vows. They had written these in secret, only hearing each other’s words for the first time during the ceremony. As they spoke, their love was palpable, leaving not a dry eye in the room. It was a moving testament to their wonderful connection: the power of crafting a ceremony full of heart and intention.

A Treasure Box of Wishes

In addition to their touching vows, Jen and Sam introduced a unique element to their ceremony—a Treasure Box! This was for guests to fill with their written wishes, hopes, and blessings. The Treasure Box will remain sealed until a future anniversary. Jen and Sam will look forward to opening it then to reflect on the love and joy surrounding them on their wedding day. This symbolic gesture added yet another layer of meaning, ensuring that their memories will last for years to come.

A Ceremony That Became the Heart of Their Micro-Wedding

What made Jen and Sam’s micro-wedding truly stand out was the emphasis they placed on the ceremony itself. For them, it wasn’t merely the start of the day’s events—it was the emotional core of their celebration. The ceremony was a perfect reflection of who they are as individuals and as a couple. This intimate, heartfelt occasion set the tone for the rest of the day. A day filled with joy, connection, and above all, love.

For couples like Jen and Sam, who desire more than a traditional ceremony, I take immense pride in crafting bespoke experiences. Their wedding at Milsoms Kesgrave Hall was not only a celebration of their love but also a testament to the beauty of a well-crafted ceremony. I was delighted with the feedback I received from Jen and Sam when they had time to look back and reflect on their special ceremony and the work we’d undertaken together.

Kind words:

“When Sam and I came away from our first meeting with Susan, we knew we’d made the right choice. She’s like a warm hug in the form of a person – very comforting to talk to, and encouraging and supportive when we were making decisions about our ceremony. These traits were important to us, as we had a few untraditional aspects to our wedding, and we wanted these to be validated by the person marrying us. Susan gave us the confidence to make these decisions and feel secure in them.

As a result, our ceremony was perfect. We had everything as we wanted it, and Susan’s words were beautiful. She told our story as if she’d known us for years, and it meant so much to share that with our closest family and friends. Some of our guests have commented that they’d never been to a celebrant-led wedding before, and they could see why we opted for one. They said that the ceremony was unique, and reflected who we were as a couple.

At the end of the ceremony, Susan gave us a little goody bag with our certificate and vows, which we will have framed. She also put an incredibly thoughtful gift in our wedding time capsule, which tied in so beautifully with mine and Sam’s relationship.

We will truly cherish our ceremony for the rest of our lives. It was a wonderful, unforgettable day, and we have Susan to thank for that.”
